w.w.whatever’s Bloomin’ happening?

The challenge:
Despite entry levels to South & South East in Bloom’s competition quadrupling since 2002 – thanks largely to Southern Water's sponsorship – Talisman was approached to help raise awareness of the sponsorship and improve communication to entrants and would-be entrants.

Talisman’s approach:
It was clear that a website for the regional campaign would enhance its aims of promoting, supporting and encouraging gardening, horticulture and environmental sustainability. As such, www.sseib.com was launched in January 2008, explaining how the competition works, offering downloadable entry forms and detailing categories and awards.



The website had nearly 4,000 hits in the first five months, much to the delight of South & South East in Bloom's chairman, Peter Holman, who said: “We hope it will encourage more people to take part and make it easier to communicate with those people already involved.”
